We strongly recommend that you provide a realistic estimate to ensure that both you and other participants have a positive experience on the course. You can adjust your target finishing time up to four weeks before the event date. Please email us at hello@dresden-half.com to do so.
Registration is possible online or on site until the end of the race pack collection period.

The DresdenHALF is one of the World Ranking Competitions recognised by World Athletics. For you, this means that your race time and finishing position can count towards the World Rankings. These rankings play a role in the allocation of starting places for numerous international championships, alongside the traditional qualifying standards. Requirements for recognition as a World Ranking Competition include, amongst other things, an officially measured course and the event being held in accordance with World Athletics regulations.
The maximum time allowed for the half marathon is three hours from the moment you cross the starting line. There is no time limit for any of the other events.
On your certificate, you will find the following split times at the 5 km, 10 km and 15 km marks.
To enable you to follow your friends and family’s race live, the DresdenHALF offers a tracking service: we record the start time, split times at 5 km, 10 km and 15 km, and, of course, the finishing time. Between the individual timing points, the runner’s current position on the course is estimated based on the recorded times. This allows you to track your runner as a dot on the course map whilst they are racing.
The route map and all recorded times will be available live on the website on the day of the event, in the results list for each participant.
>>> TO THE RESULTS
Timing is carried out using a single-use chip attached to the race number. At the DresdenHALF, the net time is recorded (the time difference between crossing the start line and the finish line). The official rankings (1st–10th) will be determined by gross times. The top finishers (1st–3rd place, women and men, no age groups) will be honoured on stage.
The use of headphones is prohibited under the DLV regulations and the International Competition Rules. Not least for safety reasons, the use of headphones is not permitted. Open-ear headphones are permitted. Important: you must be able to remain alert at all times and pay attention to important announcements.
After the finish line
You’ll receive your finisher’s medal straight after crossing the finish line.
You’ll be able to download your personalised certificate straight after crossing the finish line from the race results page.

There is an engraving stand in the finish area where you can have your medal personalised. You are welcome to book this service in advance when you register. This will then be noted on your race number. The engraving must still be carried out on the day of the event.
For 12 euros, you can also use this service directly at the stand.
At the finish area, you’ll find drinks from Oppacher and Freiberger 0.0, as well as bananas and energy bars.
In the finish area, there are changing facilities next to the luggage tent. We do not provide showers.
The area immediately after the finish line on the Terrassenufer is accessible to participants only. Adjacent to this is an open area on the Theaterplatz, where you’ll find catering stalls and our stage. Our meeting points are located in the immediate vicinity, right next to the Italian Village. These are the perfect places to arrange to meet up and catch up with one another.
